It is incredibly cold here right now -18C at the moment, but last night dropped to -31C! I haven't seen this much snow and cold weather since living in Fargo, ND 20 Years ago. I definitely got spoiled while living in Terrace. The Skeena River Valley has seen a lot more snow than usual as well. My friends and I seem to be competing to see who has the most snow! 🤣
Our lake is frozen solid and it is fun to see the snowmobilers racing around. The other day someone was out there pulling another person on skis! We also get some small planes, like Cessnas, landing on the lake. This is an interesting place to be and I'm looking forward to the adventure.
I joined the local Rockhounder club. It will be nice to talk rocks with other rock addicts! Ya know, folks in the grocery store don't seem interested in talking about rocks and geology. Who'da thunk?
My hubby blew out a path, using a snowblower of course 😉, for the dogs. Good thing, because the snow is four feet deep in the backyard and the Ladies are only about 18 inches tall (to the tops of their little heads). They disappear quickly when they try to go off their trail and have to be rescued. Theyfinaly seem to have learned not to try climbing the snow banks.
My studio is almost set up. I definitely need more lighting. Because of the barn-style roof on the house it is challenging to add wiring. It will have to go on the walls with a male ial casing over them. I'll be moving more workbench in front of the sliding glass doors so I can take advantage of the light. I'll post photos when Im set up.
For now, here is a photo of the frozen lake and the dog runs in the back yard.
